I've gone radio silent for the last several months. And it's not because of the usual reasons of being too busy, or writing non-stop, or too lazy, or whatever. I've been quiet because I feel like I've fallen into a weird literary limbo. I've written a book that was bought, along with two others, by Sourcebooks. I've written another book and it's being edited. I'm writing a third book...or I'm trying to anyway. And yet I'm not yet published and won't be until this fall. It feels so odd to try and promote and market myself when I don't have anything to offer you yet.
Except behind the scenes all kinds of wheels and cranks are turning. Editing, marketing shiz, planning, writing, crying (mostly me). Sourcebooks had a photo shoot for my cover. A COVER SHOOT...with real models and everything. For my book. Crazy, right? They nailed it, too. The cover is stunning, the models are perfect. I'm staring at a poster sized version in my office as I write this (thanks to my writing PIC, Kaylie).
Which brings me around to the actual point of this post and my release from limbo: my first cover reveal. Since "Beautiful Crazy" is my debut I don't have a lot of experience with cover reveals. And by "not a lot" I mean zilch. So when my publicist told me the reveal would be on USA Today's HEA blog I got pretty stoked, not gonna lie. I mean, USA Today's HEA blog is one of my go-to blogs for romance related stories and new covers. They'll be revealing my cover (which is so smoking hot, you guys) this Friday, June 17! I hope you'll go take a look and let me know what you think.
To whet your appetite, here's some back cover copy for Beautiful Crazy:
Kevan Landry is trying to keep her life on track and her brother in rehab. If her fledgling marketing firm can sign the hot new band, Manix Curse, it will make a world of difference. Mason Dillon heads the most successful music PR firm in Portland. He’s desperate to breathe new life into the company by signing Manix Curse.
The last thing either one needs is a one-night stand with a smoldering stranger…
